About Prof. Prem Chand Dandiya
He is a luminary of the profession of Pharmacy and has made significant contributions to the advancement of pharmacological research and pharmaceutical education in India.
He is distinguished Emeritus Professor of Pharmacology, SMS Medical College, Jaipur and Advisor, Dr. Robert Helieg Library, Consultant WHO- INDIA Programme on Rational Use of Drugs.
His contributions spread over six decades in several Indian (Rajasthan, BHU Delhi, and Jamia Hamdard) and foreign (Toronto, London, Copenhagen and Tripoli) Universities. He was the Rector (Pro-Vice-Chancellor) of the Banaras Hindu University.
Served with distinction as the President of three premier professional bodies, the Pharmacy Council of India, the Indian Pharmacological Society and the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, Professor Dandiya is a Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences, Indian Pharmaceutical Association and International College of Neuro Psychopharmacology. He has been honoured by the Medical Council of India and the Indian Council of Medical Research. He has delivered Sir R.N. Chopra oration and Dr. B. Mukherjee orations.
Professor Dandiya was bestowed with the title of ‘Eminent Pharmacist’ during the Golden Jubilee session of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, a true reflection of the love, affection and admiration for the pharmaceutical community
